Abedon Maestas

Abedon Maestas 93, a resident of Arroyo Seco went home to be with our Lord on July 15, 2014. He is preceded in death by his wife Josie C. Maestas and his parents Abedon & Desales Maestas, his sister Cornelia and two brothers who died at birth. He is survived by daughter Sally Martinez; sons, Lino and wife Carmen Maestas; Roger and wife Patsy Maestas and Antonio Maestas; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Abedon met Josie at a dance, (they loved to dance) they were later married and first moved to San Pedro then to Arroyo Seco. He worked at Cooks as a truck driver for 22 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend. A public viewing took place on Sunday, July 20, 2014 followed by a rosary at Rivera Family Funeral Home in Espanola, NM. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, July 21, 2014 at Santa Cruz de la Canada Catholic Church interment followed at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Roger Maestas Jr, Peter Sanchez, Anthony Naranjo, Joel Sanchez, Roman Aragon, Danny Romero.
