Adam Ashbaugh age 23 of Santa Fe, New Mexico, passed away on October 9th, 2024. Adam was born on November 11th, 2000, to Jessica Blea and Jacob Ashbaugh, both of Santa Fe, New Mexico. For those that knew Adam, knew that he had the most infectious smile and laugh. He was notorious for his corny puns that came out of nowhere and would just make you giggle. He had a fearlessness about him with a zest for life that made you strive to be just like him. He had the biggest heart and loved everyone around him so much, sometimes putting himself last so that others could rise. Adam was a proud member of the Santa Fe High School NJROTC and participated in the Armed Drill Team and had plans to enlist with a goal of becoming an Army Ranger. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and just being one with nature, often taking hunting trips with his “Old Man”. Adam loved all things sci-fi with a special place in his heart for Star Wars, often building his momma Lego Figures to keep in her office to remind her to “Trust the Force”. He enjoyed giving his Step-Dad Carlos, grey hair learning how to drive and had a love of coffee that he shared with his Step-Mom Danette. He so loved his brothers and sister and was always looking for ways to express it in the things that he did or said and was so proud of their accomplishments, as they were of his. He gave the best hugs and brought so much joy and love to so many.
Adam loved so many people throughout his life and all that knew him loved him as well. His passing has left a void in all of our hearts that will never be filled.
Adam is survived by his Mom and Step-Dad, Jessica (Blea) Chavez and Carlos Chavez; Dad and Step-Mom, Jacob and Danette Ashbaugh; Siblings, Alexandra Blea, Abram Ashbaugh, Michael Carmack-Vigil and Paul (PJ) Lobato; Maternal Grandma and Pops, Martha Haysmer and Johnny Serna and Paternal Grandpa, William (Bill) Ashbaugh; Uncles, Jonathan Ashbaugh and Josh Rhine, as well as many more extended aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is proceeded in death by his Maternal Grandma Elizabeth Montoya Ashbaugh.
