Adan Atencio

Adan B. Atencio, 38 of Espanola passed away unexpectedly on January 15, 2017. Adan was born on November 3, 1978 in Los Alamos, NM to the now late Vicente and Viola Atencio. He is also preceded in death by his beloved sister, Micaila Atencio, brother Daniel Garcia of Pojoaque, paternal grandparents Norberto and Manuela Atencio, of Española, maternal grandparents Frank and Ramona of Pojoaque, and great niece Aaliyah Medina of Española. Adan was a 1997 graduate of Española Valley High. He was currently residing in Albuquerque and employed as a Security Guard. Adan was a kindhearted, considerate gentleman who dedicated a lot of himself to taking care of those he loved. He will be deeply missed by those who had the pleasure of truly knowing him and especially missed by the surviving members of his family, sister Lisa Garcia, brother Manuel Atencio and wife Toni, brother Vicente K. Atencio, sister-in-law Janice Atencio, nieces Camila, Jennifer, Nina and Senovia Atencio, nephews Vicente and Antonio Atencio and Ryan Martinez, great nieces Syniyah Gaston and Bella Rose Gomez, close cousin Desirae Rodriguez and several Uncles, Aunts and Cousins. A Rosary will be recited at Rivera Family Funerals and Cremations on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 7:00 pm. The Rite of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 11:00 am with burial following at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Rivera Family Funerals and Cremations, Israel Sandoval and Los Penetentes for reciting the Rosary, Father John and the staff at Holy Cross Catholic Church and everyone else for their generous monetary donations, flowers, time and kind words and condolences during this difficult time.
