Adelina J. Chavez

Adelina J. Chavez – A resident of Española and formally of Cebolla passed away peacefully at her daughters home following a lengthy illness. Adelina was born and raised in Cebolla all though she lived in Espanola for more than half of her 94 years, she never forgot her life in Cebolla. She always remember her Piasano's with pride in her heart and a sparkle in her eye. She was preceded in death by her parents: Estevan and Adelaida Johnson; son, Juan Chavez; sister and brother-in-law, Ramoncita and Jose Lohman; and brother, Gilberto Johnson. May their souls rest in peace. She is survived by her daughters: Casilda Baca of Albuquerque and Janette Beesley and husband Ken of Española; grandchildren: Sylvia Jackson of Albuquerque, Sharon Gallegos of Rio Rancho, Gary Salazar and wife Tina of Albuquerque, Barbara Johnson of Española, Sandy Gruca of Michigan, Stephanie Martinez and husband Ken of Santa Fe, Natalie Jimenez and Sofia and Manny Chavez; daughter-in-law, Arlene Chavez of Española; 18 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren & numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday, July 19, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Española. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Gary Salazar Jr, Joseph Baca, Ernie Fernandez, Brandon Johnson Martinez, Julian Johnson and Ken Martinez. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Matt Lohman, Julian Johnson, Anita Martinez, Aurelio Johnson and Dorothy Johnson. The family of Adelina J. Chavez has placed their trust in the Rivera family of Block-Salazar Mortuary.
