Adelita Salazar

Adelita Fresquez Salazar, 86 a resident of Chamita, NM went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 21, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband Adolfo A. Salazar, son Rudy Salazar, parents, Sotero and Anna Maria Fresquez, brothers, Jimmy, Agapito, Juan and Salomon Fresquez, sister Josie, her in laws, Eduardo and Guadalupe Salazar. Adelita was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. One of Adelitas favorite pass times was make her sopapillas. She loved the outdoors, and especially her flowers. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. Adelita is survived by her sons Eugene (JoeLinda), Ricky, Arthur (Jeanette), daughters, Nancy (Gregg), Beth (Ron), Agnes (Joe), Brenda (Val), and Jeanette Salazar. She is also survived by her brothers, Sotero, Nino and Martin, sisters, Lydia and Anita, as well as 23 grandchildren, and 35 great grandchildren, and Eddie Salazar a grandson that she raised like a son and loved very deeply, and her most precious baby Pinto. Serving the family as pallbearers will be: Gilbert Maestas, Steven George, Monica George, Ben Rodriguez, Robert Salazar, Juan Maestas, Michael Roybal, Moses Medina, and Brandon Salazar. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren, great grandchildren, Carl Padilla, Ramona Chavez, Mary Naranjo, Sally Maestas, Patsy Herrera, Diana and Lawrence. A Rosary was recited on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 San Juan Bautista Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Mass of Christian burial took place on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 11:00 am also at San Juan Bautista Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Interment followed at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, at 2:15 pm on Thursday, June 26, 2014. This obituary is protected by copyright laws, unauthorized use or duplication is prohibited.
