Adolfo David Salazar

Adolfo David Salazar, 90 years old resident of Santa Fe NM, died on December 12, 2020 of natural causes. He was born on December 10, 1930 in Sapello, NM to Carmelita Lucero Salazar and Pedro Salazar. Married to Stella Andrea Tafoya on April 3rd, 1955 in Las Vegas, NM. 

He is preceded in Death by: his wife of 58 years, Stella A. Salazar, father: Pedro Salazar and his mother: Carmelita Salazar.

He is survived by sons: Benjamin Salazar (Marta), Paul Salazar, Andres Salazar (Sally),Kenneth Salazar (Sabrina), Robert Salazar (Julia), Daughters: Lourdes (Dee) Salazar, Carmen Angel (Ray), Doris Ortiz (Ralph), special caregiver and best friend of five years, Charlene Padilla and Daughter Elianna, thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, numerous friends, relatives and siblings. 

Adolfo served in the United States Army and the Korean War in 1951, he was Honorably discharged in 1959. He met and married Stella Andrea Tafoya of Las Vegas, NM in 1955, started their family and moved to Santa Fe, NM in 1967. In Santa Fe and surrounding areas, Adolfo was a well-known and respected auto mechanic for over forty years. He loved working on cars and sharing that knowledge with his Sons and anyone who would listen. He enjoyed talking about history, politics and world news although his favorite thing to do was watch old western movies. 

Adolfo passed away peacefully at home with grace and dignity. The family would like to thank everyone from near and far who would come to visit, bring him goodies and share fond memories; it truly would brighten his day. 

Rest in Peace Daddy and Merry Christmas in Heaven to you and Momma!

Rosary will be recited on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 10:00AM with a funeral mass to follow at Santa Maria De La Paz Catholic Community with interment to follow at the National Cemetary. Honarary Pallbearers are all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Due to Covid attendance is limited and masks are mandatory.
