Adolfo A. Salazar 60, a resident of Espanola’s beautiful West Side passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2020 with his loving daughters and grandchildren at his side. He was born here in Espanola on December 10, 1959 to his amazing parents Ramon and Alberta Salazar. Adolfo was the 5th of 7 children and had a special relationship with each brother and sister. He spent his early life working and helping with the family business, Block-Salazar Mortuary. Adolfo was always ready to lend a helping hand, give a ride to anyone in need and have a sympathetic ear and shoulder to lean on. He always had and gave the best advice and had a special way of looking at things. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, win or lose they were his team and he was proud of it. He was an extremely devoted grandfather and fought the last 12 years of his illness to be here to love, spoil and support his grandchildren. They were the light of his life and his reason for being.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Ramon and Alberta Salazar, his brother Gilbert J. Salazar, Grandparents Avelino and Guadalupe Talachy and Jose Ramon and Francisquita de Salas Salazar and many other aunts, uncles and loving family members.
He is survived by his loving daughter, his caretaker, his “Peleonera” Stephanie Salazar and her son Gabriel Salazar. His daughter and “Lola” Camila Salazar-Garcia, her husband Randy Garcia and their daughter Kalista Garcia. He is also survived by his loving brothers and sisters, Roy Salazar of Espanola, Clyde Salazar and wife Lucy of Albuquerque, Teresa Martinez of La Puebla, Richard Salazar and wife Carol of La Puebla and his first "Lola" Carmela Salazar his next door neighbor. He is also survived by his Aunt Mary Agnes Gallegos and her husband Andres of Espanola and his Uncle Arthur Salazar of Albuquerque.
Serving as pallbearers will be his nephews; John Ramon Vigil, Richie Salazar, Gene Salazar and James Salazar. His cousins and sidekicks Andy Gallegos and Louie Jaramillo. Honorary pallbearers his nieces; Daina Pacheco, Briana Salazar and Karla Fernandez and his Goddaughter Marissa Maestas-Muller and all of his supportive AA family.
On Wednesday, March 18, 2020 a visitation will be held at 4:00pm with a rosary to follow at 6:00pm. Due to the current national emergency we are facing we will have a Memorial Funeral Mass at a later time.
