Adonio Pacheco Sr.

September 25, 1934 — February 14, 2025

Adonio Pacheco Sr. was born in Chamisal, NM on September 25, 1934. He was a resident of Taos, NM, passed away peacefully February 14, 2025, at the age of 90 surrounded by his loving family.

He is preceded in death by his parents Fermin and Virginia Pacheco, in-laws Fermin and Irene Lucero, infant daughter Monica Pacheco, grandsons Joseph Martinez and Adonis Abeyta, sisters Carlotta Garcia Ernestine Cordova, brothers Aurelio Pacheco and Jose Pacheco.

He is survived by his beautiful beloved wife of 71 years, Maria Lillian Pacheco, his children Brenda Pacheco (Clifford†), Adonio “NoNo” Pacheco Jr. (Joyce) Patrick Pacheco (Barbara†), Christine Gonzales (Edward), Pamela Pacheco (Danny), Veronica Childers (Jason), Mabel Pacheco (Steve), fur babies Dusty and Chapulin, ten grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren, siblings Edonila Casados, Helen Johnson, Frank Pacheco (Elaine), Regina Pacheco, Virginia Dominguez (Roger), and Sarita Lopez (Adolfo), sister in law Irene Lucero (Albert), many nephews and nieces that were very special to him.

Our father was also known by “Kenny” or his beautiful whistle that could be heard throughout the stores and everywhere he entered. His happiness was contagious. He was loved and respected by his community. He never met a stranger. He enjoyed conversation with everyone. He was one of a kind. He was a devoted Catholic parishioner of San Francisco de Asis Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was always ready to lend a helping hand. He was very honored to serve the church.

The family would like to thank Holy Cross Medical Center, Anvoi Hospice Care- Susan, Nichole. You ladies are the best. Tanya Abeyta, you were such a blessing. Thank you to everyone who came by to see our mama. Thank you for all the food, all your prayers, hugs, love, and all the kindness. We appreciate each and every one of you. 

A rosary will be held on February 24, 2025, at 6PM at Rivera Chapel.

A second rosary will be held on February 25, 2025, at 6PM at San Francisco de Asís Church.

A mass will be held on February 26, 2025, at 10AM at San Francisco de Asís Church. Burial to follow at Jesus Nazareno Cemetery.
