Agapito G. Gonzales, age 89 passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015.
He was born in Canoncito, New Mexico September 20, 1926 to Salvador and Francisquita Gonzales. At the age of 16 he joined the United State Navy and served in the Pacific and the Island of Japan through WWII. Later he worked for the City of Santa Fe for 21 years in many capacities.
Agapito is survived by his former wife Connie Gonzales; children Rosalind Archuleta, William (Billy) Gonzales, Robert Gonzales (Annette), RoseAnn Shreve (Eric), and Alex Gonzales; grandchildren Michelle Archuleta, Elena Maes, Gene Archleta, Andrea Suazo, William Gonzales, Salvador Gonzales, Antonio Gonzales, Estevan Gonzales, Raymond Rodriguez, and Francesca Gill. He leaves behind 18 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Antonia Gonzales and brother Joe E. Gonzales (Priscilla) as well as many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Salvador and Francisquita Gonzales; daughter, Jacqueline Rivera; and his brothers and sisters, Salomon, Blas, Isidro, Raymond, Beatrice Romero, and Isabel Armijo.
Services will be on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at St. Anne’s Church located at 511 Alicia Street. Public visitation at 10:30 a.m. Rosary at 11:00 a.m., Mass at 12:00 p.m. followed by burial at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
