A. Gilbert Griego

A. Gilbert Griego a resident of Santa Fe New Mexico, age 84 passed away January 24, 2016. He was born May 14, 1931 to Pablo Griego and Melinda Chavez and married 53 years to Dolores Suazo of Santa Fe. Gilbert is preceded in death by his parents Pablo Griego and Melinda Griego and sister Rose Baca. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dolores Griego, sisters; Maida Apodaca, Marcella Hernandez, and Grace Apodaca, brother Pablo Griego, stepson Mario Suazo, grandson Miguel A. Suazo and granddaughter Micaela G. Suazo. Gilbert proudly served in the United States Army, was an Educator in the Espanola Public School District, a Mariachi member for over 50 years and a member of the Santa Maria de la Paz choir. Pall Bearers will be Miguel A. Suazo and Micaela G. Suazo. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at Santa Maria de la Paz followed by a Mass of Christian burial. Interment will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 12:45 p.m. A reception following the interment will be at the Santa Maria de la Paz parish hall.
