Agnes Lujan

Agnes Nashie Lujan, 92, died peacefully in her home surrounded by her children on October 25, 2009. She was born on September 6, 1917 in Santa Fe, NM, to Jose Amado and Guadalupe Gutierrez. She spent her childhood in Santa Fe helping out at her fathers Gutierrez Bakery, attended school at the Loretto Girls Academy and worked at the Lensic Theatre. She married her husband Joe in 1942 and moved to Espanola in 1944 were they made their home and raised their 10 children. Nashie will be fondly remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother, with a warm and welcoming home, a witty sense of humor, and an unyielding faith and love for God. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Joseph I Lujan, parents Jose and Guadalupe Sisneros, Father and mother-in-law Ignacio and Regina Lujan, daughters Linda Lujan, Lois Lujan Archuleta, Loretta Lujan Leeway and granddaughter Valerie Archuleta. Mrs. Lujan is survived by her children; Leroy Lujan and wife Diane of Santa Fe, Leonard Lujan and wife Anita of Albuquerque, Larry Lujan and fiancé Jo Mary of Espanola, Juanita Lujan of Espanola, Marcia Lujan of Pojoaque, Edward Lujan and wife Albertina of Santa Fe, James Lujan of La Mesilla, Luanna Lujan of Albuquerque, sons-in-law; Billy Leeway of Alcalde and John Archuleta of Pojoaque, brother Frank Gutierrez and wife Marietta of Arkansas, brothers and sisters; Joe, Amado, Kathrine and Mary Linda Gurierrez all of Santa Fe, 19 Grandchildren, 24 Great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and several special nieces and nephews. Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at Rivera Family Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Celebration will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada with interment to follow at The Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Robert Archuleta, Greg Lujan, Paul Lujan, Jerome Leeway, Eric Lujan, Santiago Lujan, Ronald Leeway, Kenneth Lujan and Joaquin Lujan honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Lujans great grandchildren.
