Alberto Garcia, 91, of Ranchos de Taos passed away on May 7, 2012 after a lengthy illness. He loved to break and train horses, which were his passion; he also worked for the NM Highway Department and as a logger and also had many other jobs. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlota and Jose Amadeo Garcia, his daughter, Rita, brothers, Carlos and Esperidion and nephew, Alfonzo Pacheco. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Josie Garcia and his son, Albert J. Garcia (Angela Roark), sisters, Rachael Hand and Berlinda Archuleta (Michael), brothers, Eloy Garcia (Gloria), Frank (Melecia), Wilfred (Melinda), Ernesto (Rickae), and Edwin Garcia; grandson, Tomas Gallegos (Rhemie), granddaughter, Amanda Munoz (Raul), as well as an extended family of numerous other nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, and his very special and beloved niece, Ernestine Montoya (Ignacio).
Funeral mass was held on May 10, 2012 at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church in Ranchos de Taos with interment at Jesus Nazareno Cemetery.
