Alex Romero

Alex E. Romero Sr., age 50 of Santa Fe NM passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2015. Alex was a retired correction officer from the New Mexico State Penitentiary in Santa Fe, NM, where he worked for twenty years. He was a loving, devoted father and grandfather to his three children and five grandchildren. Alex was an outstanding brother and friend to his four sisters and three brothers, always providing a helping hand to anyone who needed one. Alex will be truly missed by all who knew him. Alex is survived by his two children Daughter Alexis Alvarez Son Reyes Barela, his five grandchildren Brittney, Elijha, Ezekiel, Isaiah, and Faith His Mother Josephina Trujillo Brothers Chris Romero Sr. (Peggy), Simon Romero, and Steven Garcia His Sisters Viola Valdez (James) Virginia Romero (Mario Valdez) Lorraine Romero (Juan) and Christina Garcia along with many niece, nephews and friends which loved him dearly. Alex was preceded in Death by his Father Alex Esquipula Romero and Son Alex E. Romero Jr. A rosary will be held Friday, July 24, at 9:00 am at The Shrine of our Lady of Guadalupe, 417 Agua Fria Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 am, which then will be followed by the interment at Rosario Cemetery, 499 North Guadalupe Street, Santa Fe NM 87501. Friends are invited to join the family for a reception held at the Vineyard church, 1352 San Juan Dr. Pallbearers will be Reyes Barela, Chris Romero Jr., Manuel Romero, James Valdez, Johnny Romero, and Mark Montoya Honorary Pallbearers include Chris Romero Sr. Simon Romero, Steven Garcia
