Alfred Lovato was born on August 23, 1940, in Coyote NM. Passed from this life to be with the lord on August 24, 2022. He was surrounded by his loving family and passed with comfort and dignity according to his wishes.
Alfred worked for Pojoaque Valley High School for 25 years, served in the United States Army, was a member of the American legion and Eagles, and worked for water conservation in Utah. He had an infectious smile that could light up the room. He touched many lives with his kind and gentle soul.
He is preceded in death by his parents Melicendro and Cidelia Lovato, Brothers Victor Lovato, Brother –in law Jessie Lopez, Sister Olympia Martinez, Grandson Mario Hernandez, and Stepson Donald Ortiz.
He is survived by his loving wife Rose of 25 years and by his daughters Cidelia (George) Sharla, Stepson Dennis Ortiz (Jeanette) Stepdaughter (Lorraine) Grandchildren: Curtis Lovato, Charlie Jr Hernandez, and Stacey Hernandez. Step Grandchildren: Jacob Rivera, Joshua Ortiz, Dominick Ortiz, Daniel Ortiz, Johnathan Ortiz, and Jennifer Ortiz. Brothers Mike (Rose) Bobby (Colleen) Sister Mary (Cruz) Madrid and Pricilla Lopez, and Sister-in-law Erla Lovato, along with a long list of Nieces and Nephews whom he cherished.
Pallbearers: Curtis Lovato Jessie Lopez, Michael Lopez Jacob Rivera, Joshua Ortiz, and Dominick Ortiz. Honorary Pallbearers: George Srisomsak, Rudy Duran, Johnny Ortiz, Daniel Ortiz, and Jennifer Ortiz.
A Rosary and celebration of life will be held on September 7, 2022, at 6:30 pm at Sacred Heart Church in Nambe NM. Funeral mass to follow on September 8, 2022, at 9:00 am at Sacred Heart Church Nambe NM. He will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe NM at 12:30 pm.
