Alfred “Luke” Armijo, 81, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017, after a short illness.
Alfred was preceded in death by his mother, Alicia Navarette (Pilar), and his father, Fred Armijo (Martha).
Alfred is survived by: his sons Paul Armijo (Carla) and Mickey Armijo (Robbie); grandsons: Matthew Armijo and Vincent Sandoval; granddaughters: Kendall and Carson Armijo; brothers: Robert Armijo (Nancy), Edward Martinez, Pilar Navarette (Pat), Raul Navarette, David Navarette (Delia); sister: Elva Henley; special friend of the family Dora Larez; special friend and companion Nancy McKay; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Alfred served in the US Army from 1958 through 1960. He worked for Houston Lumber for 36 years. Alfred moved back to Carlsbad, NM, where he lived for the past 25 years.
Alfred was known for his keen wit and great sense of humor, love of family and friends, generosity, and love of all sports (especially the Cowboys).
A memorial celebration of Alfred’s life will be held in May.
