Alfred Torres, Sr.

Alfred Torres, Sr., age 86, of Lansing, Illinois, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 11, 2019. He was born October 27, 1932 in Aurora, Illinois, the son of Juanita and Phillippe Torres. Alfred is survived by his loving children, Andrew Torres and Alfred Jr. (Lu), and he is the cherished grandfather of Jason (Alex) and great grandfather of Siena and Arreia. Also surviving are his loving brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Alfred was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Theresa (Stacey) Torres and cherished son Peter (Debbie) Torres.

Alfred was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member and a Past Grand Knight of the Lansing Knights of Columbus, as well as active in his Catholic Parish Church in Lansing. He was loved by many and will be truly missed. 

Family will greet friends beginning at 10:30 am on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at the Rivera Family Kiva Chapel of Light, and interment services with full military honors will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:45 pm. In lieu of flowers, his family is requesting memorial contributions in his name to Honor Flight Chicago, 9701 W. Higgins Road, Rosemont, Illinois 60018.
