Alice Ross Edmunds, died peacefully in her Taos home from cancer on March 31, 2020. She was born in Springfield, Illinois, in 1955 and grew up near there until she was 14. She and her family then moved to South Bend, Indiana where she graduated from John Adams High School. After graduation, Alice traveled the U.S. spending significant time in California, Arizona and the East Coast in the U.S. She then earned a BA in Early Childhood and Special Education at Highland University in Las Vegas, NM. Subsequently, Alice then spent many years traveling abroad teaching as a Federal DOD employee in The Netherlands, Germany, Japan, Bosnia and Belgium. She last taught at an Elementary school in Taos, NM. Alice often related, to those who would ask, how much she loved teaching and learning, about how it brought her joy when she was able to help children learn and explore new adventures and experiences. Alice is preceded in death by both grandparents, and parents, brother, Evan W. Ross, husband Stetson W. Edmunds, and sister-in-law, Liliya Ross, Alice is survived by her brother, Lyle S. Ross, II, sister, Martha R. Kronstedt, nephew Jonathan C. Ross and niece Amanda E. Ross and two Grand Nephews Levi and Caleb Ross. After cremation, Alice’s final resting place will be at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe with her husband Stetson. A Celebration of Life is pending.
