Amada V. Herrera, 91, of Coyote passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on May 19, 2012. She is preceded in death by her husband Juan E. Herrera, sons in-law, Helario Valdez and Richard Martinez, parents, Tomas and Emilia Velasquez, 6 brothers and 3 sisters. She is survived by sons and daughters, Juanita Herrera of Coyote, Veronica Valdez of Espanola, Albertina Velasquez (Johnny) of Canones, Amy Baca of Santa Fe, Emily Martinez (Phil Salazar) of Coyote, Jerrie Ortiz (Adrian) of Santa Fe, Ciriaco Herrera of Coyote, Drucie Herrera (Clemente Salazar) of Chamita, Estevan Herrera (Esther Martinez) of Coyote, Abram Herrera of Coyote, 3 granddaughters she raised as her own, Valerie Herrera (Steve), Judie Mack and Phaedra Herrera, 18 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, sister, Santana Salazar, brother, Ben Velasquez, 2 nieces she helped raise, Margie Acuna and Inez De Vargas (Tircio). Serving as Pallbearers are Roberto Valdez, Isaiah Velasquez, Daniel Velasquez, Emery Martinez, Conway Martinez, Nicholas Ortiz, Nathanial Herrera and Joshua Baca
Evening service were held on May 25, 2012. Funeral service were celebrated on May 26, 2012. Both services were held at Christian Faith Fellowship Church in Gallina. Interment followed at the Herrera Family Cemetery at Canon de Coyote.
