Amado Archuleta – Age 88 a lifelong resident of Dixon, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2005, with his loving family by his side. He was preceded in death by a son, Rudy Archuleta I; parents: Celso Archuleta and Frutosa Martinez Archuleta; brothers: Celestino and Claudio Archuleta; and a sister, Agripana Archuleta. Mr. Archuleta was in the United States Army as a Rifleman 745 during World War II, he belonged to the American Legion in Dixon Post 62. He was a farmer all his life and also worked for the Chili Line Railroad and also the Harding Mines. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years of marriage : Domitila Archuleta of Dixon; his loving children: Agripana "Pana" Martinez and husband William of Embudo, Patricio Archuleta and his former wife, Nora Rodriguez, of Embudo, Adonais Archuleta and wife Joann of Española, Amadita "Amy" Sanchez and companion Joaquin "Jackie" Garduño, Orlinda Alewine and husband Carlton of Dixon, Rudy Archuleta and companion Brenda Ortiz of Dixon, Anita Lucy Archuleta and companion Henry Gallegos of Alcalde, Eleanor Duda and husband Edward of Dixon, Celso Archuleta and best friend, Brian Eldridge of Dixon and Frances Archuleta of Dixon; adopted son, Onesimo Gonzales and wife Paula of Oregon; granddaughters raised like daughters: Michelle Valdez and husband Paul of Velarde and Lenora Maes and husband Dan of Alcalde (Los Luceros); brother and sisters: Estevan Archuleta, Orcila Trujillo and husband Alfonso of Santa Fe, Carolota Roybal and husband Joe of Santa Fe, Laura Medina and husband Joe of Las Cruces and Eloisa Garcia and husband Antonio of Dixon; 26 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Public visitation will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Dixon with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 15, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Dixon. Interment will follow at the Dixon Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Steven Archuleta, Earl Sanchez, Pat Gene Archuleta, Tomas Valdez, Henry Gallegos IV, Desiree Duda, Melanie Ortiz and Marcos Olivas.
