Amador "Jack" Alcario Lobato age 81 passed away in his sleep on October 1, 2010. Amador "Jack" Lobato was born in Turley, NM. on May 1, 1929 to Alcario and Ciria Lobato-who preeded him in death as well as his daugter Durcella Lobato, sister Agnes Sanders, brother Ramon Lobato, Grandson Patrick L. Martinez Velasquez, nephew Wayne Tafoya and the mother of his daughters Celsa Herrera. He is survived by his daughters Patricia Martinez and husband Tony, Katrina Lobato, Diane Carpenter and husband Tom and son Ted Lobato, also his companion for many years Atocha Vigil, sister Sotera Brandstetter and husband Don, brother Raymond Lobato and wife Cleo, 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and many nephews & nieces. Amador Lobato went to serve his country as a young man, returned home to the ranch, and raised cattle for many years. He also worked in the oilfields, ran heavy equipment, then ran a small business in Blanco, NM. and then another small business in Cebolla, NM. which he operated for over 20 years. He loved spending winters in San Carlos, Mexico where he combed the beaches, toured the villages, visited & donated to orphanages, and fished. An evening service to remember Mr. Lobato will be held on Monday October 4th at 7:00 pm. in the chapel at Rivera Family Funeral Home in Espanola. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 am. at St. Rose Catholic Church in Blanco, NM. with interment to follow at the church cemetery.
