Amalia Garcia – Age 93 of Espanola, went to her eternal rest on February 8, 2005. Amalia was born and raised in Medenales, when she married she moved to Canjilon. She also spent 36 years of her life in Santa Fe. She has been a resident of Espanola during the past 4 years. Amalia is preceded in death by her parents; Thomas and Adelaida Vigil, her husband Tobias Garcia, a brother; Thomas Vigil Jr. and a great Granddaughter; Brianna Garcia. Mrs. Garcia was a loving Mother and Grandmother and is survived by her children; Jose "Chonque" Fidencio and wife Sally Garcia of Espanola, Mary Garcia of Albuquerque, Chris "J.J" Garcia of Espanola. Toby and wife Carmen Garcia of Espanola, a Granddaughter raised by her; Jennifer Genelle Chavez and husband Andrew of Alcalde, 10 other grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters; Olivar Vigil and wife Mary of El Rito, Victor Vigil of Utah, Eduvigen Martinez of Los Ojos, Lita Haines of Washington, Betty Howard of Texas and one sister in law; Clorinda Vigil of Santa Fe as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. Serving the family as pallbearers are: James, Michael, Troy, Joe Jr., Randy, Rudy, Nelson, Jamie Patrick, Toby Jr. and Angel Garcia. Honorary Pallbearers are all the great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Rosary Services for Ms. Amalia Garcia will be recited on Thursday, February 10, 2005 at 7:00 PM at Block Salazar Mortuary in Espanola, NM. A Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 11, 2005 at 11:00 am at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada with Interment services following the mass at the Rosario Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM at 1:00 PM.
