Andrea Amos was born on July 5th, 1973 and was called home to our Lord and Savior on October 28th , 2017.
Andrea was preceded in death by her husband Ian Amos and her younger brother Nacho Saavedra.
She is survived by her children, Daniel Barela, Gabriela Saavedra, Samantha Amos, grandson Landyn Martinez, her parents Teresa Salazar and Sammy Saavedra, Sr., her brother Sammy Saavedra, Jr. (Christine Saavedra) and sister Vanessa Barreda (Gus Barreda), along with many beloved aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
Andrea attended Grants High School and enjoyed dance classes and modeling in her childhood. Her beautiful eyes and complexion were greatly admired. She worked as an Insurance Specialist, a caseworker at CYFD, and then a stay-home mom. Andrea loved spending time with her family and friends. Andrea’s children will remember the powerful love that she gave them every day. She took great pride in, and was a fierce defender of, her children, Daniel, Gabby and Samantha. Andrea’s husband, Ian, was truly her soulmate and the greatest love of her life. It was rare to ever see Andrea and Ian apart and they were admired for the bond that they shared with each other. Andrea’s most recent joy was her beautiful grandson Landyn who could make her happy just by looking at him. Landyn brought so much light to Andrea’s life and made her so joyful in their special times together. She felt so blessed to be his Nana. Andrea had the best sense of humor. She was hysterically funny except, maybe, when the joke was on her, which was often because her mom, aunts, and siblings loved her reactions. That being said, Andrea always responded back with her clever wit. Andrea’s laugh was infectious and will not be forgotten by her family who cherished being in her company during holidays and other family gatherings. Andrea was a loving, giving, and affectionate soul. She was a loyal friend and her childhood friends remained close and dear to her heart. They will remember the all the fun adventures and memories they shared together. Andrea didn’t hesitate to help family and friends in their time of need. Andrea was truly loved and will be greatly missed.
