Andrew Richard (Andy) Wasowski, a resident of Taos, died August 1, 2012 at Holy Cross Hospital. He was born 6/30/39 in Gdynia, Poland, emigrated to the U.S. in January, 1940, where he grew up in Clifton, NJ and graduated from Seton Hall University. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp before working at advertising agencies in Philadelphia, New York and Dallas. He was the author of a novel Sellin the Sizzle, and photographer, author and co-author (with his wife Sally) of ten books on native plants. He and Sally were active in the Native Plant Society in Texas and helped organize a chapter in New Mexico when they moved to Taos. Andy was preceded in death by father, Boleslaw Wasowski, mother, Sophie (Dygnarowicz) Wasowski, and sister, Barbara Wasowski. He is survived by his wife, Sally Wasowski, and daughter, Sora Brodie, both of Taos, Martha Bonner and Clinton Hartmann of Dallas, and many friends.
