Andy Montoya age 74 of Arroyo Seco passed away on December 11, 2005 in Santa Fe following a brief illness. He was born in Santa Fe on September 28, 1931 to Dick and Fidelia Montoya, and on July 1980 married the love of his life, Hilma Montoya in Santa Fe. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. He was the owner/operator of Montoya Electric for over 50 years and was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in the Korean Conflict as well as a member of B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge in Santa Fe.Andy enjoyed hunting, fishing, boxing and spending time with his grandchildren. He was always the most gracious host and enjoyed to the fullest. He is survived by his son Andy Montoya, Jr. of Arroyo Seco, his daughters; Mandy Gonzales and her husband Steve of Arroyo Seco, Jacqui Chappel and her husband Jay of Dallas, TX. And Cassie Escalante and her husband Vincent of Austin, TX. His Grandchildren; Kevin Gonzales (who was his best buddy), Phillip Morgan Montoya of Santa Fe, Jenica Montoya of Cerro, Andrew Montoya and Leo Cortez of Missouri, Lauren and Jon Owen Chappel of Dallas, TX. And Donovan Bautista of Austin, TX. His sisters; Mary Jane Lucero and her husband Phil of Espanola, Dolores Peguero and her husband Bob of La Mirada, CA.,Beatrice "Tootsie" Garcia and her husband Toby of Albuquerque, Patsy Rane and her husband Ivan of Albuquerque, his brothers; Rick Montoya of Albuquerque, Phillip Montoya and his wife Wendy of Santa Fe, Pete Montoya and his wife Mary of Albuquerque, Bobby Montoya and his wife Francesca of Albuquerque, his stepsons; Dave, Vince, Mike, and Sam Howard, his father and mother in law Leon and Lucille Hatcher of Farmington as well as other loving members of the Hatcher family, numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and many, many friends. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday December 14th at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Española, Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 am on Thursday also at the same church. Interment will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 pm with full military honors.
