Announcement of Death:

Our heavenly Father has called his Angel home. Angelica Febye Garcia, beloved mother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend passed from this world to eternal life on February 21, 2024. Angelica was born and raised in Alcalde, New Mexico. At an early age, Angelica enjoyed the outdoor lifestyle as she found it exciting and rewarding. She was a kindred spirit who found solace and purpose outdoors. Her hands bore the calluses of hard work-whether it was splitting firewood, tending to gardens, or building from any materials she found. Her eyes would sparkle with the thrill of helping her family and friends. Angelica enjoyed sharing her stories of the outdoor work she took most pride in. She surrounded herself with those who weren’t afraid to be by her side. Angelica always expressed her hometown pride, whether it was cleaning acequias, riding horses with the Comanches or dancing with the Rainbow Dancers of Alcalde. Marikah will remember her mother as the one whose presence lit up her world, and the smile became a beacon of joy. The laughter and tears together all hours of the night is where they became soulmates. Thank you, Mom, for the unique bond between us, you loved me to pieces, you shaped me, and gave me guidance. Your memory will live forever in my heart. Angelica’s love for her daughter Marikah was her greatest treasure. She learned her strengths and fears that she never knew until the moment Marikah was born. Grandma Febye was the flower in the garden to Angelica. Wherever there was Grandma, there a garden of love grew. The nurture and loving deeds that Grandma Febye brought to Angelica’s life showed her how loved she was. Angelica had a special bond with her cousin Jose Mendoza, not merely friends, nor siblings by birth but a blend of unparalleled worth. Angelica had a special love for her nephews and nieces in which she adored and protected. Angelica is preceded by death by her grandparents, Delfino & Febye Garcia, brother Jordan Garcia, uncles Leonard and Gary Garcia, Nina Judy Mendoza, and numerous cousins.

Angelica is survived by her daughter Marikah Garcia, mother Elaine Garcia, cousins which she shared a unique experience as brothers and sisters. Roland (Jett) Garcia, Darnella (Manuel) Comacho, and David Garcia. Angelica is also survived by her brothers Lawrence (Kimberly), Anthony & Bruce Garcia, sisters Jill Archuleta, Susanna (Benny) Garcia-Trujillo, Pamela & Eleanor Garcia, nephews Ricky Martinez, Santiago (Katelyn) Garcia, Jose Dominguez, Jeremiah & Benny Jr. Trujillo, Josiah Leyba, and Jose Antonio Garcia, nieces Santanna and Kristianna Garcia-Archuleta, Amariah & Aubrianna Garcia, and Sarayah Trujillo. Nephews and Nieces will be serving as pallbearers to honor their beloved Angelica.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Friday March 15, 2024, at 11AM at New Creation In Christ Ministries in Espanola followed by an Interment of Ashes at San Antonio Catholic Cemetery in Alcalde, N.M.
