Anita Pickett

Anita Christine Pickett (“Christy”), age 77, passed away on April 1, 2021 at her home in Los Alamos, NM.  Her husband and her daughter were at her side when she passed, and her husband, son, and her son's family were with her through her final years.

Christy was born in El Reno, Oklahoma in 1943 to Emery and Wanita Newman.  She spoke to and laughed with everyone she ran across.  Her optimism and her warm, radiant smile were lights in the darkest places.  She was quick witted, smart, beautiful, funny, kind, and she loved animals.  She lived for her family, and she loved them completely and unconditionally.  Christy brightened the lives of many people, sometimes with just a brief encounter.  Her story and her light will live on through every heart she touched. Christy was loved dearly.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Steve Pickett; her son and his wife, Neale and Amy Pickett; her daughter, April Otero; and her two grandchildren, Ginnie Pickett and Ren Otero.
