Ann Brandenberger

April 29, 1938 — May 5, 2017

Ann Brandenberger of Los Alamos, New Mexico passed away peacefully in her sleep at Saint Vincent hospital May 5, 2017. She had been hospitalized there for a just a few days due to a severe infection. She had been residing in the Santa Fe Care Center nursing home since February, 2017 to receive Physical Therapy and was planning to return home to her house in Los Alamos when she got stronger. Mrs Brandenberger was born in Brownsville Texas in 1938 to Jack Henry Morris and Billey Gresham -Morris. She obtained her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Kentucky University and moved to Los Alamos with her husband Jerry Duke Brandenberger, Phd for his work at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. She worked at the University on New Mexico in Los Alamos teaching math and other subjects as well as working at Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church as a day care teacher. She was a lifetime member of Mensa and a tambourine player with the Los Alamos Hillstomper Band. She enjoyed reading, and going to the Betty Ehart Senior Center Day Out Program. Mrs. Brandenberger is survived by her daughter Sarah of Boise Idaho, and her son Jerry of Edgewood, New Mexico. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Duke Brandenberger in 1979 and her son John David Brandenberger in 1981 who are buried in Guaje Pines Cemetery. She will be interned there as well at a later date to be announced. There will be a memorial service at the Christian Church of Los Alamos on Eastgate Road on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Doug Parton will preside and all are welcome to come say goodbye to Ms. Ann as she was popularly referred to on occasion. She requested no flowers but donations may be made in her honor to the PEEC Center, the Los Alamos Food COOP, and the Betty Ehart Senior Center. She will be missed by her friends and Staff at the Day Out Program at the Senior Center and her band mates from the Hillstompers Band in Los Alamos.
