Anne Lanigan Brinkley, age 89, passed peacefully at home on November 8, 2021.
Anne is survived by her two sons, Patrick “Rick” (Freda) Brinkley of San Mateo, California, Timothy Brinkley of San Diego, California and two granddaughters, Erika (Jon) Lewis of Danville, California and Miranda Brinkley of San Mateo, California. Anne is also survived by her sister Jean Butkovich of Cle Elum, Washington. Also mourning his loss are caregivers Mike and Celenia.
Anne was born in Cle Elum, Washington May 5, 1932 to John Lanigan and Charlotte Tuttle. Anne grew up in Cle Elum, worked hard to earn her Bachelor's degree from the University of Washington and settled in New Mexico. In Los Alamos she met and married Forrest William Brinkley Jr. Mrs. Brinkley was a registered nurse at Los Alamos Medical Center shortly before leaving to raise their sons. Anne was a volunteer tutor at Pueblo Junior High School. She was always busy with projects from photography to art to bird watching. Anne greatly enjoyed Native American Art, restoring furniture from her grandmother's house in Painesville, Ohio and watching the wildlife around Los Alamos. Late in life Anne picked up colored pencil drawing. Of particular joy was interacting with her granddaughters and philosophical and current events discussions with her sons.
Burial Services at Guaje Pines Cemetery will be held at 2 pm on December 2. Mrs. Brinkley is in the gentle care of Rivera Family Funeral Home of Los Alamos
