Anthony Gonsalves

December 28, 1963 — October 29, 2024

Anthony John Gonsalves (December 28, 1963 – October 29, 2024) was born in San Jose, California, but resided in New Mexico for most of his life.  After suffering a heart attack a few days prior, he passed away peacefully on October 29, 2024 in the presence of family and in the midst of prayer.  He graduated from St. Michael’s High School class of 1982 as valedictorian, and went on to attend Cornell University, where he received a B.S. in mechanical engineering. Anthony will be remembered

for his generosity, intelligence, sense of humor, creativity, and his affable nature. His greatest loves were his nieces and nephews and music.  His sense of humor and creativity shined through daily and in the lyrics and short stories he sometimes wrote.  He will be deeply missed.  Anthony was predeceased by his father Charles Gonsalves.  He leaves behind his mother, Cleo Gonsalves; five siblings: Mary Gonsalves, Fr. Joseph Gonsalves, Inés Gonsalves-Martinez (and her husband Carl Martinez), Teresa Gonsalves (and her husband Mohamed Harchich) and Simon Gonsalves; and nine nieces and nephews: Sebastian Martinez (and his wife Amanda), Francesco Martinez (and his wife Lety), Elizabeth Martinez, Rodrigo Martinez (and his wife Lexi), Fernando Martinez (and his wife Nicole), Veronica Martinez, Constantine Martinez, Adam Harchich, and Alexandra Gonsalves, and five grand nieces and nephews.  He is now free of any distress and ailment!
