Antonio Sena, age 90, of Ojo Caliente was called home on Saturday, April 7, 2007. Antonio was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and Carpenter Unions of Arizona and New Mexico. Where Antonio lacked in education, he was rich in wisdom in which he learned many trades. He was a self-taught surveyor, carpenter, heavy equipment operator, masonry, and engineer. He traveled with his job working in Kansas, Arizona, California, and New Mexico. Antonio is a veteran of WWII serving the U.S. Army in Germany.
Antonio was preceded in death by his parents, Jacoba and Vicente Sena, 3 brothers Anecleto Sena, Eliseo Sena and wife Lucy, and Pete Sena; 2 sisters Carmen Sena and Josie Ramey; and 2 sisters-in-law Estella Alire and Louise Alire.
Antonio is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Margaret Sena of Ojo Caliente, daughters Cecilia Martinez and husband Roy of Espanola, and Amelia Galvez and husband Lupe of Albuquerque; six grandchildren, Carla and Brenda Martinez of Espanola, David Galvez and wife Lupe, Emmanuel Galvez and wife Sheri, Vincent and Mario Galvez all of Albuquerque; 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Lucy Garrison of Richmond, CA; 2 sisters-in-law Celedonia Sena of Richmond, CA, and Lupe Sena of Ojo Caliente; a brother-in-law Paul Alire of Pueblo, CO; and several special nieces, nephews, god-children, and other family members.
A rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 7 p.m., at BlockSalazar Mortuary. Mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday at 10 a.m., St. Marys Catholic Church in Ojo Caliente. Interment will immediately follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with full military honors at 1:30 p.m.
Serving the Sena family as pallbearers are David, Emmanuel, Vincent, and Mario Galvez, John Sena, Nicky Sena, Lee Salazar, and Harold Sena. Honarary pallbearers are Isaac Valdez, Vernon Jaramillo, Anthony Garrison, Carl Allen, Nicholas Weyer, Crystal and Michael Martinez, Ben Trejo, Fermin Jaramillo, Tomas Marquez, Amadeo Galvez, Joe Torres, Atley Maestas, and Manuelito Jaramillo.
