Ms. Arlene R. Archuletta age 71 of Ohkay Owingeh, NM. died peacefully on Sunday October 24, 2010. She was born in Los Angeles, CA. on July 1, 1939 to the late Santiago and Beulah Mae Archuleta. She was preceded in death by her parents and also her brother James Archuletta. She was an artist and a famous basket designer & painter, demonstrating her native American designs in Ma-Clay and also being profiled in The Womans Home Journal. She was also vice president of Ohkay Owingeh Arts & Crafts and was a graduate of Highlands University with a Major Arts Degree. She is survived by nieces & nephews: Mona Trejo of Ohkay Owingeh, Mike Archuletta and wife Laura of California, Steve Archuletta and wife Lydia of Rio Rancho, Cynthia Hendrickson of California, Diana Medal of California and Mark Archuletta of Albuquerque, great aunts; Norma Loring, Helen Smith and Lylah Mitchell, cousins Leroy Sanders and wife Peggy, Frank Torres and wife Bea, Herman Vigil and wife Isabel, Edwin Ortiz and wife Frances, Mary Bowers, Lena Cata, Henry Archuletta, Charley Archuleta and wife Josephine, Cornell Blancaflor and wife Mary as well as other relatives and many friends.
