Arthur J. "Art" Ortiz

Arthur J. Ortiz of San Pedro, NM passed away on May 14, 2014. He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Cecilia Ortiz, his children, Rita Garcia, Rick Ortiz (Beth), Theresa McDermitt (Shorty) and Gloria Ortiz. Grandchildren, James Garcia (like a son), Victoria Garcia, Paula Cabrera (Javier) and family, Jenny Gonzales, Rick Ortiz Jr. and family, Jeremy Hackward, Melissa Wood, Missy Herrera (Kenneth) and family, Chris McDermitt and family, Roberta Deleplancque (Steven) and family, Jules McDermitt and family, Terri Ann Ortiz and Eugene Ortiz. He is also survived by his nephews, Gilbert Ortiz (Lela) and family, Jerome Valdez (Angela) and family, Jeremy Valdez (Tracey) and family, Tony Garcia, and numerous great grandchildren. Also, surviving Arthur are his sister and brother-in-laws, Julie Valdez (Fermino), Dora Garcia, Joe Olivas (Barbara) and family, Frank Olivas and family. He will also be missed by his best friend Frankie Garcia. Arthur was an Ironworker and a Jack of all trades, a beloved father and a great friend to anyone. A memorial service will be held at the Valley View Methodist Church in Espanola, NM on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 10:00 am.
