Arthur Edward Judd age 92, a resident of Santa Fe, NM passed away May 27, 2016. He was born February 17, 1924 to Florence King Judd and Arthur Joseph Judd.
Arthur is preceded in death by his parents Florence and Arthur Judd. He is survived by his brother Allen Judd of Buffalo, NY, daughter ‘s Wendy Kurkowski of Westminster, CO and Heidi Vendegna of Santa Fe, NM, grandsons Matthew Kurkowski of Thornton, CO and Clinton Vendegna of Westminster, CO and great- grandson Cayson Kurkowski of Thornton, CO.
Art enlisted in the Army Air Corp in 1943 and flew 66 missions as the bombardier in WWII. Art attended Syracuse University after the war and graduated with a degree in Engineering in 1951. Art was married to Betty Jones in 1952. Art worked in the aerospace industry in Washington state and California before moving to New Mexico. In the early 1970’s the family moved to Santa Fe, and Art established D-CO Inc., a Security system company. Art volunteered for the Sierra club and lead hikes for over 30 years. He taught wilderness survival and mushrooming at Santa Fe community college through the 2015 year. Art was many things, a father and grandfather, a ski patrolman and instructor, a poet, a wine connoisseur, and a friend to many.
Services will be held at the Rivera Funeral home (417 East Rodeo Road) on Friday June 3, at 1:00pm.
