Arturo Quintana – Age 72 a resident of Santa Cruz passed away on Friday, July 22, 2005. He was born on April 13, 1933 in San Juan, New Mexico to Tito and Maria Quintana. He married Rose M. Koch on March 2, 1955 in Germany. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Quintana. He is survived by his wife Rose M. Quintana of Santa Cruz; children: Elsie Rendon and husband Manuel Valdez of Lyden, MaryLou Apodaca and husband Patrick of Española, Bobby Quintana of Lyden and Freddie Quintana and wife Sally of Riverside, California; sister, Grace Chavez of Albuquerque; brothers: Fred Quintana of T or C and Celestino Quintana Albuquerque; grandchildren: Michelle, Ramon, Reynel, Mia, Jessica, Robert, Michael, Steven and Noel; brother-in-laws: Celso Ortiz of Fairview, Rudy Koch and wife Lene, Willie Koch and Ferdenand Koch and wife Lene all of Germany; sister-in-law, Frieda Katzmarcyk (pronounce – Cars Mar Chick-); nephew, Jerry and Helga of Germany; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Monday, July 25, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at 9:00 a.m. - at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Interment will follow at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: David O. Martinez, Gilbert Martinez, Tito Ortiz, Jerome Quintana, David Romero and Avenicio Maestas. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Celso Ortiz, Henry Cordova, Connie Thompson, Helen Finch, Mary Agnes and Andres Gallegos, Frank and Eva Montoya, Gilbert and Becky Borrego and Alice and Robert Martinez, the Archuleta girls, Marie Pacheco, Laura and Rubel Martinez and all of his grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Veterans Hospital.
