Aurora Sanchez

Aurora Francisca Cardenas Sanchez, age 87, of Arroyo Seco, NM passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. She is the beloved wife of the late Doroteo Sanchez and daughter of the late Francisco and Josefita Cardenas. She is preceded in death by her children, David “Turkey” Sanchez, Reynaldo Sanchez and “Baby” Sanchez. She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Susana Cardenas, Lupe Archuleta, Teodora Flores, Evan Cordova, and brothers Alfonso, Orlando and Richard Cardenas. She is survived by children, Hazel Vigil (John), Berlinda Cordova (Fred), Andrea Fresquez (Dan), Virgilio Sanchez, James Sanchez and Fabian Sanchez. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jonathan and Ricky Vigil, Blossom, Daisy and Senaida Cordova, Donna, Anthony and Daniel Fresquez, James Jr., Janice and Joshua Sanchez, Randy Vigil, Angel Sanchez and Cassandra Maestas. She is survived by many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, sisters, Jane Alfred and Gloria Cardenas and brother, Fred Cardenas. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 5 to 6 PM at Rivera Chapel in Taos. Rosary will be recited on Monday, June 3, 2019 beginning at 8:30 AM with funeral mass to follow at 10 AM at the Holy Trinity Church in Arroyo Seco. Interment will be held at the Arroyo Seco Cemetery immediately after funeral mass. The Sanchez Family cordially invites all family and friends to join them for a celebration of Aurora’s life at a reception to be held at the Holy Trinity Parish Hall following the interment.
