Avelino L. Tapia - Age 81 a resident of Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 19th, 2006. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents: Luciano and Genoveva Tapia; sons: Raymond Tapia and Michael Tapia; brothers: Percy, Lino and Jake Tapia; and a sister, Dora Jones. May their souls rest in peace. He is survived by his loving children: Lourdes Tapia, Bonnie Povijua and husband Joseph, Abe Tapia and wife Belinda all of Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo, Jake Tapia and wife Cindy of Rio Rancho, Bernadine Vega and husband Max of Albuquerque and Catherine Vigil and fiancé Juan Roybal of Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo; former wife and mother of his children, Eufelia Tapia; brother, Joe Tapia and wife Margie of White Rock; sister, Carmel Chavez; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. A wake was held at the family residence on Sunday, August 20th, 2006. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 21st, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo. Burial will follow at the Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Raymond Povijua, Joseph Povijua Jr., David Povijua, Michael Tapia, Eloy Chavez and Percy David Tapia. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: John Povijua, Deseree Povijua, Kasia Povijua, Isaiah Povijua, Joseph Povijua III and Alexandra Martinez. The family of Avelino L.
