Bobbie Olson was a bright, fun, adventurous character who left this world too soon on November 8, 2023 at the age of 66.
She was born to William and Margaret Northcutt on May 2, 1957. She was given her name by her sisters who loved the picture of the little girl on Barbara Ann Bread that was popular at the time. Bobbie lived all over the United States as well as Japan in her lifetime.
Her enthusiasm was contagious, and she was a life-long learner earning her master’s degree in her 60’s. She wore so many different hats in assorted jobs throughout her life, from mental health awareness and support to business endeavors as well as working as a special education teacher. She consistently worked to make a genuine connection with everyone she encountered. From a small note or a warm embrace, she helped everyone know they were important in her eyes. Another gift was her keen eye for aesthetics! She could make anything look beautiful from blank walls to delicious meals for her family on a gorgeously decorated tablescape. She also laughed too loud, and with reckless abandon, used too much salt, and was always guilty of finishing other people’s sentences. She will be fiercely missed.
She is survived by her husband, John Olson, her two Scottish terriers, Zoe and Gunner, children, Joshua Lightle (Heather), Malea Fowler (Josh), Melanie Daughtrey (Kevin), Shyla Henderson, Ann Rice (James), John Olson (Jackie), Michael Olson, and Steven Olson (Kelsey). Bobbie has 14 grandchildren, as well as many other family and friends who loved her.
A memorial service will take place at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque on
November 18, 2023 at 2:00pm.
