Barbara Cattin Hooton, 86, died on September 23, 2010.
A long-time resident of Santa Fe, Barbara and her husband Bill were well-known for their involvement in numerous city affairs and for their founding of the Compound restaurant. Following Bill's death in 1988, Barbara worked for the Santa Fe Housing Trust for many years, retiring in 2004 at the age of 80! In June of 2009 she was honored as a Santa Fe Living Treasure.
She was predeceased by a brother, Walter Jerome Cattin of Harbor Springs, Michigan and is survived by two sisters, Susan Stevens (Mrs. Arthur) of Husum, Washington and Joan LeBuhn (Mrs. Donald) of Northbrook, Illinois, and by a large number of nieces and nephews and their families.
