March 17, 2021 Mary Barbara Martinez (Barbs) left this life, to live her eternal life in heaven. Barbs was loved by so many and will be missed by all those left behind. Barbs had the best smile, that could light up any room. 22 years of her life was spent as a daycare provider and she had a special place in her heart for all of her children that came into her home and her life. Prior to that she worked for the State of New Mexico for 8 years. After operating her daycare, Barb’s went back to working for the State of New Mexico for the next 4 years of her life. Barb’s loved being a Grandma more than anything in the world and her grandchildren were the light of her life. Barb’s loved spending time with family and friends, her husband, her children and her grandchildren. Her happiest times were spent camping, cooking, baking, going to spin class and taking care of others. She is survived by her beloved husband Saturnino “Sat”  Martinez of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Son Anthony Romero (Amber Romero) of Canyon, TX. Son Jerick Martinez ( Mariah Perry) of Albuquerque, NM. Son Jeremy Martinez (Marlette Martinez) of Espanola, New Mexico. Grandchildren Kami, Haeli and Paetyn of Canyon, TX; Jessie and Josiah of Espanola, NM. Parents Aurelio and Ermelinda Pacheco of Santa Fe, NM and Tino and Velma Martinez of Lamadera, NM. Brothers and Sisters Clarence (Katie) of Phoenix, AZ, Daniel (Luisa) Pacheco of Espanola, NM,  Rita Bustos of Santa Fe, NM, Arlene (Clyde) Ferguson of Las Vegas, NV, Ana (Fab) Sandoval of Santa Fe, NM.  Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many beloved friends that she felt were more like family.

Preceded in death by her Daughter-Deeann Romero, Brother-Albert Pacheco, Sister- Lori Pacheco and Nephew- Eugene (Gino) Bustos.

Services will be performed by Rivera Family Mortuaries.

Rosary and Mass to be held at Santa Maria De La Paz in Santa Fe, NM on Friday, March 26, 2021.

Rosary to be at 10:30 AM and Mass to follow at 11:00 AM

Burial will take place at Rosario Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM at 1:00 PM.

Honorary Pallbearers: Kami Noack, Haeli Romero, Paetyn Romero, Josiah Coriz and Jessie Quintana.

****Barb’s believed that flowers should be given when one is alive, so that they can smell and enjoy them. By her request in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Cancer Center or The Ronald McDonald
