Barbara Moore

Barbara Ann Moore, 79, of Nambe, New Mexico passed from this life on January 14, 2022, following a short illness.

Barbara was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 8, 1942. She moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico with her parents at the age of 13. She graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1960. Barbara married Paul Moore on July 3, 1961. She had four children, 10 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She and Paul also fostered 19 children and influenced the lives of many others in their roles as both Girl Scout and Boy Scout leaders.

Barbara was a member of St. John’s UMC in Santa Fe for over four decades. During this time she was a member of the Covenant Sunday school class. She also managed the commodities food distribution program there for several years.

For over 35 years, Barbara owned B & P Bookkeeping and Tax service. She served manyclients throughout New Mexico and the United States and remained a friend to many of her clients even after she retired. Barbara also was a very creative person. Many of her familymembers are the proud owners of beautiful hand knitted, sewn, and woven items that they will treasure forever.

Barbara loved her family with her whole heart. She specialized in making others feel special and especially loved celebrating others on their birthdays and on Christmas.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Len and Elinor Bouche.

She is survived by herhusband of 60 years, Paul Moore, who was the love of her life. She also is survived by her children Lenette Kelly and husband Wesley, Dawn Moore, Landon K. Moore and wife Sara Tharrington, and Katherine Romero and husband Lench. She also is survived by 10 grandchildren, Bryan Bailey, Steven Moore, Staci Johnson, Kyler Cruz, Berrit Stow, Uma Moore,Jessica Romero, Gerlynn Romero, Gerrianna Romero, and Gereese Romero. She is survived by seven great-grandchildren Ella, Aaliyah, Daniel, Isaiah, Titus, Jack, and Shawn Paul.

Celebration of Life Service will be held at St John’s UMC in Santa Fe on Wednesday, January 19 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to St John’s UMC, 1200Old Pecos Trail, Santa Fe, New Mexico, 87505.
