Beatrice Gurule

Beatrice Gurule, 82, a resident of Espanola, passed away peacefully on Wednesday. April 2, 2025, with her loving family by her side. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Emma Martinez, son Tony Duran, Brothers Frankie and Betation Martinez, In laws Henry and Juanita Gurule. 

Beatrice was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a strong believer in her faith and loved God with all her heart. She enjoyed visits with her children and grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She was the happiest when she was with her husband Joe, and they were inseparable. She enjoyed making puzzles, watching wresting, listening to gospel music, and seeing You Tube videos with granddaughter Erica. 

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Joe Gurule, her children, Manuel Martinez, Jose Baca, Emma Duran, Ross Baca, Lupe Baca (Andrea), Bobby Duran, Stepchildren, Lucy Gurule, Steven (Dawn) Gurule, Consuelo Gurule, Esther Gurule, Betty Gurule, brothers, Joe Martinez (Tessie), Pete Martinez (Dorothy), and 18 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. 

Serving as Pallbearers are Lupe and Viola Baca, Andrew and Jose Palomares, Joey Martinez, and Andrew Espinoza. 

Honorary Pallbearers are her grandchildren Viola, Austin, and Erica Baca. They stood by her side until the end. 

On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, a Viewing will be held at Rivera Family Funeral Home in Espanola, NM, starting at 5:00pm. A Memorial Service will follow the viewing at 5:30pm. On Thursday, April 10, 2025, a Memorial Service will take place at 10:00 am at Rivera Family Funeral Home in Espanola, NM. Burial to follow at Loma Vista Cemetery in Alcalde, NM.

A special Thank you to her daughter-in-law, Andrea Baca, who stood by her side, her caregiver, Andrew Espinoza, Ambercare hospice nurses Mariah Pizzano and Virginia Sanchez, Christus St. Vincent Hospital, The AMG Specialty Hospital in Albuquerque, NM, The Presbyterian on Maine in Albuquerque, NM, and Pastor Vivian Martinez.
