Beatrice Vigil

Beatrice P. Vigil of Taos passed away peacefully to join her Lord and Savior on July 12, 2019 at the age of 90.  Beatrice was born in Arroyo Hondo on November 30, 1928 to Jose Pacheco and Rosanna Pacheco.  She grew up on the family ranch on La Cuchilla Road with five brothers and one sister.  She married Alfonso Vigil on March 5, 1946 and lost him 35 years later in a tragic accident on June 12, 1981.  Beatrice was employed by Holy Cross Hospital for nearly 20 years and was a supervisor for the majority of that time.  She was the family matriarch, a wonderful cook and her home was always open to family and friends.  She was the family legend when it came to her biscochitos, everyone wanted her to bake them for family gatherings and functions.  She was also active in the Ladies VFW Auxillary.  She is preceded in death by her parents and  step-father, Solomon Duran,   siblings, Octaviano Pacheco (Angie), Arturo Pacheco (Angelita) Estanislado Pacheco (Dorothy), Ramon Pacheco Jr. (Adella), Armando Pacheco, Porfiria Mondragon, grandsons, John Vigil-Maestas and Martin Acosta.  She is survived by her four children, Diana Martinez (Donicio (deceased), Joe Duran (Frances), Henry Vigil (Susan) and Lillian Trujillo (Tim).  She is also survived by grandchildren, Renee Duran, Denise Acosta (Martin), Matthew Trujillo (Denise), Mario Martinez (Dani), Alfonso Vigil(Monica) and Marissa Vigil, great-grandchildren, Adrienne McMillian (Jeff), Jacob Duran (Kaitlyn), great-great grandchildren, Ashyton, Brody and Estevan, sister in-law, Emma Pacheco,  brother in-law, Tom Mondragon, special niece and nephew,  Ramona Atencio and Randy Pacheco, several other nieces, nephews, cousins, close family friends, Bea Maestas and family.

Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 9 AM with funeral mass to follow at 10 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Taos.  Interment will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 10:30 AM at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
