Beltran (Tano) Ricardo Batista

On July 3, 2019 at 2:30PM, our beloved Beltran (Tano) Ricardo Batista went to be with our Lord in Heaven. He was born in Holguin, Cuba on October 10, 1946 to Pedro Batista and Digna Lopez. He was a long-time resident of Hernandez, N.M. after moving to Espanola, N.M. from Miami, Florida.

Tano was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and a faithful friend to many. Tano enjoyed music. He adored his family and loved family unity. He was also a talented Cuban chef, his paella was absolutely delicious. Grandpa Tano was loved by all his grandchildren. especially, one granddaughter Tana Lopez, who took his name. He was very well known as “Tano El Cubano.”

Tano is survived by his brother, Gil Batista, Edileberto Batista and Johnny (Rose) Gallegos; and his sister, Magail Batista. He is survived by his five children; Geraldine Lopez, Joanna Maestas, Veronica Batista, Evaristo Lopez and Willie Batista. Tano is also survived by his twenty-one (21) grandchildren and thirty-five (35) great-grandchildren.

Tano is preceded in death by his loving wife, Susan Batista (Hernandez); brother Edwardo Batista; parents, Pedro Batista and Digna Lopez (Cuba); grandsons, Jacob Maestas, Charlie Maestas, Michael Maestas. Mother-in-law Elena Gallegos and father in-law Luis Gallegos (Hernandez.)

Serving the Family as Pallbearers will be Carl Lopez, James Lopez, Luis Mendez, Chris Manzanares, Evaristo Lopez, Evaristo Lopez, Jr., Willie Batista, Bobby Jo Maestas and Gianna Archuleta, his Goddaughter.

Serving the Family as Honorary Pallbearers will be JohnPaul Lopez, Brandon Cordova, Issac Pana, Catrina Lopez, Crystal Lopez and many other relatives and friends.
