Benedita "Betty" L. Gallegos

BENEDITA "BETTY" L. GALLEGOS Age 79. of Canjilon and formerly of California passed away on Saturday December 9, 2006 in Santa Fe. She was born in Eden, Colorado to the late Anselmo and Josephine Leal. Her and her husband Ralph enjoyed returning to California to check on their family auto repair and salvage yard companies, but always looked forward to coming back to Canjilon to run the family ranch. She is preceded in death by her parents and son Ronald Gallegos, daughter Gloria Gallegos, son Lawrence Gallegos, two brothers; Ernest and Danny Leal, sister Miquela Leal and daughter in law Sophie C. Hayes. She is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Ralph Gallegos of Canjilon, and their children: Nancy Venegas of CA., Josie Salazar and husband Ruben of CA., Sylvia Campas of WA., Alonzo Gallegos of Tierra Azul, Ralph Gallegos, Jr. of Espanola, Mona Lisa Urrutia and husband Reynaldo of CA., and sister Grace Gallegos of CA., as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and other relatives. A wake service will be held on Thursday, December 14th, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary. A rosary will be recited on Friday, December 15th, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, December 16th, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Burial will follow at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
