Benito Romero

July 11, 1924 — June 12, 2022

Benito Jose Romero (Largo) went home to our Lord on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at the age of 97. Benito joins his mother, father, brothers, and, wife Marylou in Heaven where they are sure to be spending their time enjoying the eternal light of our Lord.

Benito will be lovingly remembered by his four children Billy Gene Romero (wife Lisa), Nina Romero, Karen Brown (husband Patrick), Flora C. Martinez (husband John) and numerous Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great, Great Grandchildren.

Benito was an honored combat of the Korean War and World War II; he served our Country honorably.Benito was loved by many. His positive outlook, generous spirit, and kind heart left an impression wherever he went and with whomever he met. He never met a stranger that didn't quickly become a friend. He always went out of this way to help anyone in need and he had an incredible way of caring for others. He will forever be remembered by many.

Please join Benito's family in celebrating his life on June 26th public visitation will begin at 4:30PM-5:30PM, immediatly following the public viewing the rosary will commence at 6:00 pm at Rivera's Funeral home in Espanola. The mass will be on June 27th at 9:00 am at Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe del Valle de Pojoaque Catholic Church. Please note that the gathering at the Nambe Community- Senior Center will be held directly after the Mass. The burial will take place at the National Cemetery on June 28th at 10:00 am in Santa Fe. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith"; 2 Timothy 4:7
