Bernabe Garduno, 89 passed away Sunday March 25, 2018. He was born in Nambe, New Mexico on September 30, 1929 to Eugenio and Agripina Garcia Garduno who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Vianes, Benancio Garduno and wife Estefanita, sister Tonia (Chuck) Harkness, brother -in-laws Pascual, Ben, Marvin, son in law Frank and numerous nieces and nephews. He is survived by Stella, and his children Bernice (Michael), Beatrice Medina, Gina Rivera (Joseph) ,Elvie Lucero (Miguel),Nicky (Irene), Felice (Ben), Florinda Roybal (Dennis), Adrian (Tiny) , his sisters Domitilia and Idalia Espinoza, Vicky Baker, sister in law Janice Garduno, 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 3 greatgreat grandchildren, special cousin Harold Romero and numerous nieces and nephews. During World War II he tried to join the navy but because of his age he was unable to. So he and Santiago Gomez his brother in law instead joined the Merchant Marines at the age of 17 years old and were sent to Tokyo Bay at the end of the war and could name all of the sunken Japanese ships on the Harbor. He also worked for McDouglas air craft in California. Pallbearers; Tony Rapatz, Vences Roybal, Vivian Vigil, Rafael Rivera, Miguel Lucero Jr, Richard Garduno. Honorary Pallbearers; Daniel Rapatz , Robert Espinoza, Joseph Rivera Jr, Andrew Garduno, Nicky Garduno Jr, Peter Paul Roybal, and Adrian Garduno Jr. The Family would like to invite anyone to meet at Sacred Heart Church in Nambe at 8:00a.m. to participate in a Farewell Ride / Procession around Nambe. Visitation will be on April 2, 2018 at 9:00am at Sacred Heart in Nambe, New Mexico, Funeral Services taking place all on Monday, April 2, 2018 beginning at 9:30am at Sacred Heart in Nambe, New Mexico with interment to follow at Nambe Cemetery. The Garduno family would like to give special thanks to The Confradia Santisima Trinidad for leading us in prayer, New Mexico Behavior Health Las Vegas, NM, Meadows Home Las Vegas, NM and all the hard working staff, Tia Domitilia Chavez, Arsenio Trujillo, Robert Romero and all those who sent their prayers.
