Bernadette Tennyson

Bernadette Marie Tennyson was born on August 5, 1951 to Maclovio and Bertha Martinez in Santa Fe New Mexico. Bernadette dedicated her life to public education as she worked for the Santa Fe Public Schools, Santa Fe Community College, New Mexico School for the Deaf and the Public Education Department for the State of New Mexico and served on the SMHS Foundation Board.

Bernadette Passed away after battling cancer on September 2, 2021 surrounded by her family.

Bernadette was preceded in death by her parents (Bertha and Maclovio), Her sister Sandy Martinez, her mother-in-law Lilian Tennyson, father-in-law Leslie Tennyson and her loving husband of 37 years Kenny Tennyson.

Bernadette is survived by her children Kimberly Lujan-Garcia (Manuel), Leslie Lujan and John Tennyson (Danielle), five grandchildren Alexandria, Kyra, Isabella, Eva and Maceo. Her sisters Barbara Griego (Tom) Fran Martinez and brothers Richard Martinez (Gerry), Ken Martinez (Susie), Bob Martinez (Loretta) and many other cousins, nieces  and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers are her greatest joy, her Grandchildren. Thank you for all the love and support of family and friends during this difficult time.

A rosary is scheduled for September 14, 2021. Public viewing at 5:00pm with rosary following at 6:00 p.m. Rivera Family Funeral Home 417 E. Rodeo Rd, Santa Fe, NM. Funeral Service to follow on September 15, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi. Burial Ceremony to follow at Rosario Chapel. Reception will be held at the Elks Lodge 1615 Old Pecos Trail, Santa Fe, NM.
