Bernard Russell

Russell, Bernard J. “Barney” age 63, beloved husband, father, step-dad and grandfather, flew to Heaven on the wings of eagles on Monday, May 16, 2016. He was born in Cold Spring, NY on January 6, 1953 to Thomas F. and Margaret Waters Russell. He was preceded in death by his parents and his favorite cousin, Maureen Neville Hoyt, all of NY. Barney is survived by his wife, Karen Moore Russell and step-sons Clayton and Carter Wallis, all native Santa Feans; daughters Jennifer, of Hawaii and Mary Kate, of Nevada; grandkids Calleigh, Aidan, and Ryan; brothers Thomas and wife Linda, of Cold Spring, NY, and Joseph and wife Mary Anne of VA; sister Patricia and husband Larry Marko, of NC and his Eye Associates “family”. Barney was smart and funny, 100% Irish, and hard-working to a fault. He was very proud of his service to his country, retiring from the United States Air Force in 1994. He loved the NY Mets & NY Jets, his work at Eye Associates, and his family, which was the center of his life. He will be greatly missed. Burial with full military honors will be held at 11:15am on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
