Bertha Anna Hogan, 82, of Santa Fe passed away on February 24th, 2019.
Bertha, known to her family and friends as Sis or Bert, quietly and unexpected passed away in her home early Sunday morning. She was a faithful wife, friend and confidant to all. Bertha was very smart and creative. Sis grew up in Des Moines, NM on the Weatherly Ranch where she grew to love the outdoors and fishing. She held Bachelor Degrees in P.E. and Spanish, from NMSU in Las Cruces and Univ. of N. Colorado in Greeley, CO. During that time she traveled to Mexico, Spain and Italy for studies abroad. She was a gymnastics coach and PE teacher at Santa Fe High school for many years. Bertha loved her arts and crafts and to have craft sales. Sis loved her pets, Spunky the Monkey, Penny, Ozzie and Beanie to name a few. She enjoyed the casinos when she could. She was a wonderful person who will be greatly missed!
She is preceded in death by her mother Eva Garcia, father Joe L. Rivera, Sr., brother: Luther Rivera. Bertha is survived by her husband Dan Hogan, brother: Joe I. Rivera, Jr., six nieces, and nephews as well as many cousins and other relatives.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10 am Friday, March 1st at Rivera’s Kiva of Light located at 417 East Rodeo Road, Santa Fe, NM 87505.
