Bertha Holterman

Bertha Annie Holterman, 80, of Fairview, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2008 due to a lengthy illness. She is preceded in death by husband John Holterman and parents Herman Prieba and Annie Uillner Prieba. Bertha was born in London, Arkansas on September 18, 1927. She was first employed at the shoe factory in Russellville, Arkansas then moved to Espanola, NM to work as a cashier at Trumans Market. She later worked and retired from Center Market, in Espanola, after 27 years there. It was in Espanola where she met and married John Holterman. They were married at McCurdy Chapel in Espanola, NM. Bertha was a member of the Yucca Extension Club and was devoted to her church- The Valley View United Methodist Church. She is survived by daughters; Debra Acuna and husband Leonard Acuna of Tesuque, NM, and Johna Compton and husband Donald Compton of Chanceller, AZ, grandson; Justin Acuna of Phoenix, AZ, granddaughter; Kaylene Jaramillo and husband Ryan Jarmillo of Las Cruces, NM, brother; Martin Priebe and wife Wilma Priebe of London, AR, and sisters; Lela Burgers and Alma Whitney, both of London, AR. Bertha is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces. The family has requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Valley View United Methodist Church in Bertha's name. A Memorial Service will be conducted Monday, August 25, 2008 at 11:00am at the Valley View United Methodist Church. Internment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
